Tennis sporting events on the Costa del Sol in 2023
Tennis tournaments are a permanent fixture on the annual sporting calendar, and this year showcases the following two big events:
Davis Cup Finals 2023 – Malaga city
Malaga hosted the final stages of 2022 Davis Cup tournament and repeats the experience this year. You can watch the world’s top teams play for the highest international tennis accolade at country level from 21 to 26 November. The quarter-finals take place on 21-23 November, the semifinals on 24-25 November and the grand finale on 26 November.

Andalucia Open ATP 250 – Puente Romano Tennis Club Marbella
This exceptional tennis club regularly hosts top tournaments, and in 2023, they include the Andalucia Open. The competition takes place from 27 March to 11 April, with matches open to the public from 1 April onwards.

Golf events on the Costa del Sol in 2023
The Costa del Sol is home to dozens of excellent golf courses and is known as the Costa del Golf as a result. Every year, several high-profile tournaments take place up, and down the coast and in 2023, they include the following stellar events.
LIV Golf – Club de Golf Valderrama
Spain’s best golf course forms part of the LIV Golf circuit this year and as such, hosts one of its tournaments. The championship will take place from 30 June to 1 July and feature some of the world’s top golfers in the teams. In 2022, they included Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

Solheim Cup 2023 – Finca Cortesin
This year sees one of the world’s biggest tournaments when the Solheim Cup comes to the Costa del Sol. The best women golfers from Europe and the US will compete at Finca Cortesin, one of the best golf courses in Spain, from 18 to 24 September.

Other sporting events on the Costa del Sol in 2023
Ironman 70.3 – Marbella
Marbella’s usual annual date with elite sport takes place on 7 May this year. Some 2,000 athletes will be participating in the challenging competition as they swim 1.9km, cycle 90km and run a half marathon at the end.
Running events – Torremolinos, Marbella and Malaga
Several locations on the Costa del Sol hold top-running events throughout the year. The biggest is the Malaga Marathon, taking place this year on 10 December in the city. Malaga also hosts a half marathon, as do Torremolinos and Marbella.
