Marbella Club Golf Resort goes back to the 1990s when Marbella Club Hotel developed the land as an extension of its five-star services. The Hotel management sought to complement their beachside offerings with the benefits of the stunning scenery within easy reach.
With Dave Thomas on board as the golf course designer and some of Andalusia’s top equestrian experts, Marbella Club Golf Resort came into being. Over two decades later, the Resort ranks among the finest in Spain and has a consolidated reputation for excellence and high-end living.
The designers incorporated the natural beauty of the valley into the Resort. As a result, the stunning views come part and parcel of every element whether you’re playing golf, hacking on a Spanish thoroughbred or enjoying a glass of cava from your private terrace.

Dave Thomas put his signature to the 18-hole, par-73 golf course at Marbella Club Golf Resort, which contours perfectly to the valley and includes several water features. Its length of over 6.240m makes it one of the longer golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
Highlights along the course include the highest point at the 7th where you’re treated to panoramic views of Gibraltar and Africa. Keeping your eye off the vistas is equally challenging at the 18th whose elevated position makes it one of the most spectacular finishes on any golf course in Spain.
Privileged club facilities
The Clubhouse enjoys a picturesque location on the lake overlooking the first hole. Offering bar and restaurant services, it makes the ideal spot to enjoy a quick snack before a round of golf or a leisurely dinner. Mediterranean cuisine stars on the menu with local produce taking centre stage in the dishes created by Juan Galvez, Executive Chef at Marbella Club hotel.
Marbella Club Golf Resort also offers golf tuition – a class or two often comes in handy for negotiating the narrow gullies and water features on the course – and a driving range. Resident Pro is British golfer Gary Vautier.
Golfers also have access to the Pro Shop with a prime selection of golf equipment and accessories.

Renowned as one of the best equestrian centres in Europe, the Riding Stables house several fine Arabian, Spanish, French and German breeds as well as offering livery services to residents’ horses. The arena, one of only two in Spain, hosts the annual Spanish Show Jumping Championships, usually in July.
