Marbella Club Golf Resort lies to the west of Marbella in the stunning countryside that makes up the municipality of Benahavís. The sandy Mediterranean coast lies just 5km due south of Marbella Club Golf Resort.
And although the sparkling ocean is visible at every turn with Africa and Gibraltar on the horizon, the Resort has one of the most tranquil locations on the western Costa del Sol. Within the lush valley, flanked with verdant foothills and Mediterranean woodland, reigns an oasis of peace and quiet.
All within just a short drive of the bright lights of Marbella and Puerto Banús. Both Málaga Airport and Gibraltar Airport are less than an hour away.
Did you know? With a population of just over 7,000, the municipality of Benahavís stretches over 150km² of stunning mountains and woodland. For more information, read our Area Guide to Benahavis.
Marbella Club Golf Resort goes back to the 1990s when Marbella Club Hotel developed the land as an extension of its five-star services. The Hotel management sought to complement their beachside offerings with the benefits of the stunning scenery within easy reach.
With Dave Thomas on board as the golf course designer and some of Andalusia’s top equestrian experts, Marbella Club Golf Resort came into being. Over two decades later, the Resort ranks among the finest in Spain and has a consolidated reputation for excellence and high-end living.
The designers incorporated the natural beauty of the valley into the Resort. As a result, the stunning views come part and parcel of every element whether you’re playing golf, hacking on a Spanish thoroughbred or enjoying a glass of cava from your private terrace.
Privileged real estate
Fine properties are a quintessential part of Marbella Club Golf Resort and buyers have the choice of purchasing a plot or a ready-built home. All make the most of the Resort’s south-facing aspect to maximise views of the valley as it slopes towards the Mediterranean and Africa beyond. Frontline golf positions are also a given.
Ready-built homes come into two elegant styles: contemporary modern or traditional Andalusian. All carry the signature of renowned architects and offer ample space, maximum quality in finishes and fittings. Plus all the extras that come with living in a 5-star resort.
While Marbella Club Hotel guests can only access the on-site facilities during their stay, residents at the Resort always enjoy them. All the Resort amenities are open to residents as are those at the Hotel including the beach club, restaurants, spa and Thalasso centre. And for maximum convenience, a shuttle service links the Resort with the Hotel.
Did you know? Marbella has some of the best architectural studios in Spain.
Dave Thomas put his signature to the 18-hole, par-73 golf course at Marbella Club Golf Resort, which contours perfectly to the valley and includes several water features. Its length of over 6.240m makes it one of the longer golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
Highlights along the course include the highest point at the 7th where you’re treated to panoramic views of Gibraltar and Africa. Keeping your eye off the vistas is equally challenging at the 18th whose elevated position makes it one of the most spectacular finishes on any golf course in Spain.
Privileged club facilities
The Clubhouse enjoys a picturesque location on the lake overlooking the first hole. Offering bar and restaurant services, it makes the ideal spot to enjoy a quick snack before a round of golf or a leisurely dinner. Mediterranean cuisine stars on the menu with local produce taking centre stage in the dishes created by Juan Galvez, Executive Chef at Marbella Club hotel.
Marbella Club Golf Resort also offers golf tuition – a class or two often comes in handy for negotiating the narrow gullies and water features on the course – and a driving range. Resident Pro is British golfer Gary Vautier.
Golfers also have access to the Pro Shop with a prime selection of golf equipment and accessories.
Did you know? Ranked as the 39th best golf course in Spain, Marbella Club Golf Resort earns most accolades for its varied terrain. Reviewers describe it as “a real gem” and on a par with Real Valderrama (rated the best golf course in Spain) in terms of enjoyment and a test of golf.
Privileged horse riding
As well as fine golf, Marbella Club Golf Resort also offers residents the chance to enjoy horse riding. Whether you’re a beginner on horseback, an accomplished rider or a fan of watching show jumping, the Marbella Club Golf Resort Riding Stables is a must.
Renowned as one of the best equestrian centres in Europe, the Riding Stables house several fine Arabian, Spanish, French and German breeds as well as offering livery services to residents’ horses. The arena, one of only two in Spain, hosts the annual Spanish Show Jumping Championships, usually in July.
The Riding Stables give residents the chance to hack the beautiful countryside around the Resort, perfect their riding skills and watch the finest horsemanship in the world.
