What’s a chiringuito?

But before we list our recommendations, a quick word on what chiringuitos are and what to expect.

Chiringuitos on the Costa del Sol have humble origins. Many started life as little more than a shack with bar stools serving beer and grilled sardines. But over the years, they have evolved and become part and parcel of eating out to eat.

While some chiringuitos remain cheap and cheerful, most offer table dining and a range of food and drinks.
