When we started looking for our dream home on the Costa del Sol we started searching the web. Pretty soon we selected a couple of estate agents that looked as if they had their act together, among them was www.realista.com. Important to us were a proper and good working website, enough information about the Costa del Sol and what to do and not to do when buying a property in Spain. So when browsing their website we filled out their property search form and that same evening we had an email with properties that suited our needs. More importantly however they also asked us a lot of questions, things we hadn’t actually thought about but which are quite vital when looking for a property in Spain. After a couple of phone calls and some more emails we decided to go to Spain and have a look at the properties ourselves. The same person who send us the email and had talked to us over the phone was waiting for us at the airport. The next couple of days we had a look at interesting properties and our agent in the meantime told us a lot about the environment of Estepona and not only showed us great properties but also the typical Spanish things we were looking, as the great fish restaurant in the port of Estepona right on the beach, but also the restaurants and shops where we as foreigners could get the things from home.

We fell in love with a small villa in the neighbourhood Buenas Noches with beautifull seaviews. Before we could close the deal we had to fly back so our agent introduced us to a lawyer, and he took care of everything. When the price and other conditions were agreed upon we put down the deposit and flew back two months later to be present with the signing of the deeds. The only thing we had to was buying new furniture and enjoy our new house under the sun.

All in all it was a very pleasant experience and we can certainly recommend the use of Realista.

We want a second home under the sun to enjoy the good life. As we love playing golf our preference was southern Spain due to the large amount of beautifull golf cources in combination with the great weather.

During an exhibition we talked to a couple of estate agents. Most of them had nice properties but asking specific questions about the areas where the properties were most of them had to acknowledge they didn´t live in Southern Spain so they simply couldn´t answer our questions. Therefore it was nice to talk to people from Realista as they all live and work there.

They invited us to come over which we have done twice now in combination with a short golf holiday. We play some golf and have a look at some properties. We haven´t made up our minds yet but when we do we will definitely buy through Realista as they´ve been very helpful and pacient with us and have showed us some really great properties.

As I´m living and working already in Marbella I know the environment and I knew what I was looking for, a new build for permanent living which also was a good investment. However I couldn´t find it, after a recommendation from a friend I got in touch with Realista.

After a couple of months they called me and told me that they found it. A new development in Estepona which was launched that same day, 24 hours later I had a look at the plans in the sales office. They were right, that’s what I was looking for. Although it will not be completed for at least beginning 2009 I have already made a “paper” profit as the developer is selling the last of my type of apartment for Euro 90.000,= more.

Who says you can´t make a profit in the present property market in Spain.
